I got this kit but it seems the lower spring seat is VERY loose around the valve guide and im not sure what to do. im not sure if im just missing something or if its supposed to be that way, id imagine not though. they’re goin on a set of 799 heads.

My guess is so you can run the intake backwards like on the impala ss transverse application. Could be useful in fiero builds or mud trucks where they route intakes into the cabin.

The extra holes are most likely to make it harder for the assembly workers to build them wrong. If they drilled only the holes used, the flanges would have to be welded on rotated. With the extra holes, the workers don't have to check which orientation needs to be used per side

The intake is double drilled so you can turn the intake backwards

I have the same style intake and really like it with a GM 4bar TMap mounted on the back. It's cheap and works good enough for me.
